Michael (Mick) Webster is a distinguished author, lecturer, educator, emergency manager, counter-terrorist specialist, and investigative journalist. As the publisher of the oldest online newspaper, the Laguna Journal, Mick’s syndicated investigative reports are read globally in over 100 U.S. outlets and at least 136 countries. His work is published in collaboration with global news agencies and media information services, reaching more than 350 news affiliates worldwide.

Mick’s career is multifaceted. He has served as a trustee on trade union funds, a business investor, and a consultant. His expertise extends to various roles, including being a radio newscaster, labor law generalist, Teamster Union business agent, and union contract negotiator. His dedication to workers’ rights is evident through his representation of union members in grievances and his work with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).

Mick has also represented management, notably as the former director of Federated of Nevada. His commitment to journalism is reflected in his publication of several online newspapers, including the Laguna Journal, Small Business Journal, Prospectors Journal, Indian Gaming Journal, and El Paso Journal. He conducts investigative reports for print, electronic, and online news agencies.

As an authority on venture equity/debt funding and venture capital, Mick has authored five bestselling books on the subject. His guidance has helped executives, investors, and entrepreneurs secure capital for start-ups and expansion projects. His role as a safety consultant has seen him work on major projects like the $3.0 billion LA County Metropolitan Transit Authority Purple Line and the $2.7 billion LAX People Mover project.

Mick’s contributions to emergency management are notable. He has worked with FEMA and continues to assist government officials, contractors, and business owners with emergency planning and response. He was an early advocate for Indian casinos, significantly improving the living conditions on reservations, starting with the Mescalero Apache ‘Inn of the Mountain Gods’ in New Mexico.

Known as the Jack London of finance, Mick’s three-decade-long career includes board memberships in renowned organizations. He is the original founder of WIB Financial Group and has collaborated with notable investors such as Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Richard Branson, and Donald Trump.

Mick’s achievements in safety and emergency management are complemented by his educational certifications from institutions like OSHA, the University of Pittsburgh, and the National Fire Academy. He is also an advocate for healthy living and medical research, having published numerous works on natural cures and holistic nutrition.
